The Edge (Russian: Край, translit. Kray) is a 2010 Russian historical drama film directed by Alexei Uchitel. The story unfolds shortly after the end of World War II in the Siberian hinterland, where Russians and Germans with damaged personal stories interact. The film explores a strange transformation: the victors seem to be crawling into the skins of the defeated, and vice versa. The protagonist, Ignat, embodies the larger-than-life image of the Soviet victorious warrior, but he is shell-shocked, sick, and broken. Trains become a fetish for the characters, and speed becomes a mania. They virtually merge with their steam engines, which take on human names. The heroes set up an almost fatal race in the Siberian forest, risking their lives and those of others. If you’re interested in historical dramas, this one might be worth watching! 🎥🌟
